Amanpulo, Our Detailed Itinerary

It was an unexpected plan to go to Amanpulo. Besides, a December trip for me would mean a family vacation. Anyhow, my friend found out about this promo from one of the Philippines’ top credit card companies. We took the opportunity as it was a pretty good deal, considering our dates fell on a peak season. High season in Amanpulo starts from November and ends in May.

Located northeast of Palawan lies Amanpulo in the privately owned Pamalican Island. It’s a five star resort with luxury and privacy at its finest! As far as dream destinations is concerned, Amanpulo should be on one’s list. Below you’ll read about my 2-night stay with my friends in Amanpulo.

Enjoy!

Amanpulo is reached only by chartered plane and lands on its own airstrip. In Manila it has its exclusive lounge at Andrews Avenue, Pasay City near Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3. On Grab or Waze, just type Amanpulo Manila Lounge.

As I stepped out of the car, a gentleman approached me and carried my luggage inside the building. I passed through security measure and went inside. My first impression? VIP treatment at its best. And, it gets exciting by the moment. I took a deep breath, got in the lounge, and there was my friend waiting for me.

Note the red carpet.
Ahem 😉
Catching up as we enjoyed the complimentary snacks.

Moment of silence. Apparently, Amanpulo has received the quality seal from the Department of Tourism for three consecutive years 2016 to 2018. I thought, lucky us <giggling>.

Let’s go.

Luggage allowance is 20 kg, hand carried baggage included that shouldn’t exceed 3 kg. Flight time is 70 minutes each way, with the following schedule;

MNL-PAM 13:00, 16:00
PAM-MNL 09:30, 14:30

As the saying goes, the early bird gets the worm. The earlier you make a reservation, the higher the chance you book the better flight time, or whichever suits your schedule best.

Oh hello, captains! We’re seated behind them.
Blanket was of no use as it was hot in the plane. You may use the ear plugs if you find the sound of the engine deafening.
Now this fan was useful.
Literally, the pilot follows a straight path. And the view was pleasant throughout the flight.

On arrival, we were welcomed by the resort staff and a guest relation assistant was assigned to us. Using electric buggy, we drove to our casita.

Hello, Amanpulo!

The price of one’s stay depends on the accommodation, either a casita or a villa. A casita can range from $1200 to $1900 per night, while a villa can go up from $3200 to $7900 per night. This is exclusive of the roundtrip flight to and from the island, which costs $495 per adult. Casitas are perched on the hillside or set along the 6.5 km beach. Ours was a deluxe hillside casita. Let me show you.

We ended the night stargazing by the beach. I haven’t seen a sky full of stars as I did in Amanpulo. What a perfect evening! Unfortunately, none of us knew how to photograph the stars. We all ended up with black images 😂 But definitely, the memory is still very vivid in my mind.

Personal electric buggy for island exploration
Last minute activity – pedalboarding. Mind you, it’s not as easy as it looks.
As we bid goodbye to this powdery white sand beach of the island.

I hope you liked it.
