Hello Kitty Flight Experience

I am a Hello Kitty fan since adolescence. Three years ago, I found out that there is a Hello Kitty themed plane by Eva Air. I enlisted it on my bucket list since then. Finally, I have experienced to fly via Shining Stars. Did it meet my expectations? Let’s find out.

Because Eva Air is a carrier of Taiwan, you need to go there one way or the other. You may check their website for the flight route and corresponding flight number. This will help you when you are ready to book your trip, as it is not indicated if you are getting the regular flight or The Kitty flight. For example, Taipei to Singapore is BR215.  We flew from Taipei to Singapore via economy class.

Lesson # 1

Upon arrival at Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 1, go straight to the designated Hello Kitty self-service check-in machine to print a Hello Kitty themed boarding pass.

Disappointment # 1

We went through the regular check-in counter.  The attendant did not inform us that there is a separate kiosk for Hello Kitty boarding pass for passengers who wish to procure one.  Of course, it mattered to me as it should have been part of the overall experience.

Self-service check-in machines
Breastfeeding room
Play area
Sanrio shop
Telephone booths
Waiting area

This was the best shot my husband could take of the plane (with me on it of course). Do you see it? My excitement couldn’t get any better.

So let us take a look inside.

Disappointment # 2

I was expecting most food would look like Hello Kitty.

Green peas snack in Hello Kitty package
Main course with Hello Kitty utensils. They can be brought home as souvenir.
Coffee with Hello Kitty stirrer and sugar in Hello Kitty package

Lesson # 2

I wondered if it would be different in a business or a first class accommodation.

Nevertheless, it was a dream come true and my most memorable flight.

Was it worth it? I would give it a yes. And if you are a fan, you should go experience it too.

With love,
